Thanks guys! Yes I have seen those injectors and they're not that bad. Im wondering how many cartridges you would go through to push an entire keg through (corney)? Didnt have enough time to get them this time but also thinking of getting them. If you use them and think of it, let us know...
Hi everyone,
Im going to a party this evening and want to bring one of my already carbonated ales. I have no way of bringing CO@ to the party because I have a permanently mounted four body regulator but do have a way of bringing my nitrogen bottle, regulator and gas line for it. Seeing as...
Hi everyone,
I recently broke my trusty hydrometer and was wondering if I should upgrade to a refractometer or not. I was wondering what the pros and cons are of a refractometer. I know all about hydrometers but not refractometers. Can I use them for FG readings? Thanks for any help!
I dont know if you have already dont this but I have had many batches where it appears there is no bubbling but a gravity reading is the ONLY real way to see if your beer has had any fermentation activity. Do this and if you find that there has been no activity I'de re-pitch some yeast...
Hi there!
Has anybody ever thought of using there HLT with a HERMS coil as a chiller? Basically fill it up with cold water and ice and recirculate the post boil hot wort through it to chill it? I just thought of this but was wondering if anybody else is doing it out there?
Thanks everyone for the responses. Feel free to add more input. Iijakii thats a good idea about the threads. I hadnt even though of that. I might go for something metal just to avoid that.
Hi Everyone!
I am looking for some input from some of you who have had experience with March pumps in your homebrewing adventures. I am making an electric brewery and it has come down to me deciding which pumps Ide like to use. Im only doing 10 gallon batches so the normal size works fine...
Yes. I have a 16 cu ft chest freezer that is my kegerator but i also use it to ferment beers (hard going for a week without beer on draft but it makes the fermentation much cleaner) and all that the temp. controller does is act as a relay and turns the entire freezer on or off. It turns on and...
I would try to brew it like that but make sure when you fill the barrel that you would fill it all at the same time. So you can make say 6 10 gallon batches over the course of a week and wait until they are all done with primary and then rack all six into the barrel. Then top off as necessary.
Thanks everyone. I decided to throw so much in because it was about one month from the time I washed the yeast (which was after about four weeks in a secondary) to the time I started the starter and I figured my viability would be nill. Guess I was a little wrong on that haha. Thanks everyone.
I have done about seven lagers or so and have always done a d-rest. I always ferment a little under 50 and then when its a few points away from being at FG I take it out of the chamber and let it rise to around 65 and hold that for 2 days. At this point I rack to a secondary and lager then I...
Well this is what I got after washing the remnants after coming out of the secondary. It might have only been about one inch up the side of a small mason jar max. Still just a lot of yeast though. Im just wondering about the CO2 though. I want to replicate cells and if CO2 is being produced...
