    Perlick Faucet Problem

    Does anyone have a vendor/model for a known-good shank that will fit the 525SS? I wouldn't mind buying new tower shanks if I could be assured that they would fit.

    Dahoov, sorry for being unable to make it this weekend - sometimes life gets in the way, any chance you'll be around on Saturday, 5/14, about 1:30pm? If you sold my bag to the highest bidder by now I understand. :)

    You won't need to germinate/dry the grain, that's already been done and is what makes it malt. You will need to mill the grain before using it in a mash. I use a friends mill, and maybe the LHBS will let you use theirs with your own grain. I do mostly partial mashes and use 4 to 6 lb. of base...

    Thanks, I guess I'll give that a try. I got a new 525SS this week, and put it on my shank (4yr old from a bev factory kit). It felt a little funny, but i tightened the fitting and applied pressure, then spent the next 20 minutes cleaning beer off the walls.... Checking closely the Perlick...

    Did you grind down the shank teeth all the way, or just a little off the top? Sounds like you also ground down the inside of the Perlick faucet too, correct? Do the teeth still mate?

    Just ran into this problem yesterday putting a 525SS on my tower. Ended up with beer all over the walls-- very frustrating. After playing around we determined that the problem is indeed an incompatibility with the teeth preventing it from mounting flush. Tightening it as much as possible did...
