    2nd Annual MVHBC Homebrew Competition

Sorry, we can't share the individual scores. We try to keep them private between the judges and the brewer, and the steward who turns in the top three entries for their category.

Just got the scores posted yesterday, thanks for checking Korvitz. Everyone's should be available now. PM me if your scores aren't showing for whatever reason. We hope to make the online system even better next year and have the scores available within a day or two. Thanks again to everyone...

    2nd Annual MVHBC Homebrew Competition

We are working to get individual scores posted to the registration pages sometime this week, so you should be able to see the scores before the scorecards arrive in the mail. We will update when that is available. Thanks!

    Outdoor burners?

I use the Bayou Classic Banjo in the garage and out in the driveway and love it. The thing is a beast.

April 2013 New England Group Buy

I definitely can't make Sunday May 19th, it's my daughter's birthday. I couldn't make it down there anytime before the evening. I either need help from anyone north of the city that can handle my 3 bags or I need to figure something else out, sorry guys.

All Group Buy Participants - NCM Price Change

LHBS have to be crazy if they think people will buy the same amount of grain at a greatly increased price from them. I don't have the money to spend $50 a batch. I buy my hops in bulk it's the only way to afford brewing a dry hopped iPa, I'm not buying $14 of hops for one batch.

All Group Buy Participants - NCM Price Change

Homebrew group buys are an atypical commercial situation, it's not the same as an average purchase at your local retail store. It involves organizing online, volunteer work and coordinating a delivery/pickup location. It's far beyond what your average consumer would do to get a better price on...

    New England Group Grain Buy

I'm in as well, looks like I'll have to be quick on the spreadsheet with all the interest that's been building. The last group buy was the first one I've participated in and it went really well, thanks so much to everyone that organized it.

Beer Law: "While Brewing, Drink Beer"

I don't drink while I brew, a six hour brewday that starts in the AM leaves me wiped out by the time I am cleaning the last pot or bucket. Then I'm usually obligated to put in some family time in the evening since I can't deal with distractions when I brew. If I was single, had all day and...

Mash - Water to grain or grain to water?

My technique may be due to not having my setup dialed in perfectly, but I always add water to grain so I can monitor the temperature constantly. I've had wildly different temp swings in summer vs winter, so I use the amount of strike water I add to stabilize my mash temps.

    Quality cheap bourbon.

Wild Turkey, doesn't have to be the 101. Hell I'd use Old Crow if I had it on hand. I don't find cheaper bourbons disagreeable compared to other spirits.
