I was planning on brewing a beer that calls for 1 lbs 8.0 oz of Caramel Malt - 30L (Briess). However, my LHBS doesn't carry any. Would an equal amount of Caramel 20L and 40L be a decent substitution?

I've been using it for quite a while. Originally on a 3.0 Ghz machine with 1.5 GB of RAM, which was just running the beta version, but I really enjoyed using it. Now, I have 7 on an Asus 1005HA netbook and it runs like a charm. My current size prevents me from taking advantage of 7's awesome...

Just use some aluminium foil. Works in a pinch if you want to speed up your initial boil.

I had my last dinner in the bay area with my gf there before we moved to LA. I was mildly pissed they didn't have the Alimony, but I was appeased when they laid down a plate of their jalapeño poppers. Damn, those things are delicious.
