Keep me posted on your progress and I'll do the same!

    BCS-462 Build Schematic

Hadn't had the time. A few friends recently became quite interested and I've been helping them out, so I think it may come back to life eventually.

I never finished mine, but hope you have good luck in doing so!

BCS 462 & 6" Temp Probe (and maybe more)

Just an update on what remains. All that remains at this point are the Definite Purpose Contactors (3x), LM317 voltage regulators (2x), Honeywell transformers(2x), and zip ties/mounts. Everything else has been sold.

BCS 462 & 6" Temp Probe (and maybe more)

Okay, here's the list of parts (its the first picture in the set). So far all that's sold is the 5 Crydoms. Make me an offer for individual parts or for the lot! http://www.flickr.com/photos/mlisk/sets/72157628077820040/ Matt

BCS 462 & 6" Temp Probe (and maybe more)

Edit 3: I'll sell the 3x Definitive Purpose Contactors, 2x LM317, 2x honeywell doorbell transformers and the zip ties/mounts for $45 shipped (wherever a medium flat-rate box will go) Edit 2: here's a link to the electric build stuff. Crydoms are sold. Prices listed are what I paid, less...

    My brew cart in progress

@brewmonk: yea i've been trying to think about a different top for it. I just scrapped a pine desk that might do the trick. @EricT: The ultimate plan is to go electric. I've started putting together a project to do it, but the hold up right now is getting 220V service out to the brewhaus...

Need some advice on this electrical diagram

You know, you CAN drive more than one SSR off of one output on the BCS, right? It might simplify your use of 2 SSRs to control the element. Also, I'm pretty sure the electrician you spoke to is incorrect. People have been able to use 220V elements on 110V. If you search these boards you'll...

    Home coffee roasters, a question...

Hmmmmm. I feel like I saw your heat gun/breadmaker on sweet marias website or somewhere. How'd to rig it all together? It would be nice to roast more than 3oz at a time on the cheap.

    Home coffee roasters, a question...

Revive dead thread! thought i'd share my roasting contraption. The cans keep the beans in and direct the chaff out. a little less fragile than the glass chimney, but not as easy to see inside. I use the $15 poplite from walmart.

Need some advice on this electrical diagram

My thoughts were if there were a catastrophic failure that caused melting (i think it happened recently with someone on here). And yea, definitely no replacing the SSR without cutting all power.

Need some advice on this electrical diagram

Got me there. I'm not an electrical engineer. But in general, why energize a circuit if you don't need to. edit: another thing to add. If an SSR fails (either due to too much load, age, etc.) switching the power off leading the the SSR can be accomplished via the contactor (or i guess...

Need some advice on this electrical diagram

I think the idea is to minimize the current in the SSR. if it doesn't need to be there, and you can keep it out, why not?

    BCS-462 Build Schematic

In retrospect, that's what I should have done. The pricing is much better.
