    brewershardware jacketed coni+glycol ?'s

I've got relief/spunding valves. I'm actually not worried about unexpected failures, but I would like to be able to condition/carb in it. They don't have giant flat lids like the Stout or giant lid gaskets like (nearly) all the others, so they shouldn't have any trouble with 15 psi. I suspect...

    brewershardware jacketed coni+glycol ?'s

Thanks for that Jonathan. That's what I needed. I know liability is a concern for BH. To me though, any conical touted as "the best small batch size stainless steel conical fermenter on the market" would be one that can be pressurized to at least 15 PSI, like the Brewhemoth and Glacier. But...

    brewershardware jacketed coni+glycol ?'s

I'm really leaning toward ordering one of these, but Brewer's Hardware won't say whether they will hold pressure. Looking at them it seems like they would be able to do 15 psi, but I just need to be able to pressure transfer, so less than 5 psi. Can anyone who has one comment on this...

    Need Help with Gas Blender

Hi guys- Anyone out there know how to set up an old-style Perlick Gas Blender? I scored a brand new one for free, but it didn't come with any instructions. This one is model 664B and has adjustable inlets for Co2 and Nitrogen. So far my Google-fu hasn't turned up any useful info. I'll...

    Head retention in soda

I haven't tried this yet (I plan to tonight), but I read on one of the soda-extract mfg sites to use non-dairy creamer as a heading agent. I think about a cup per 5 gallons. This was specifically for root beer - I imagine it would ruin clarity in a lighter colored soda. He said he's even had...

Thinking bout converting old hot tub into MLT,any thoughts

What's really scary about this is that I've driven by some properties out here that have junk like this rigged up to do all sorts of crazy things, and it wouldn't surprise me a bit if Brewvy is dead serious. Washington rednecks are a bit different than ordinary rednecks. Reading our local...

Crimp spade lugs for PID controller

Maybe I'm not following, but these fit all the PID models I've used. They also have them in blue for larger guage wire. My local Home Depot also had a 75 pack of red 4-6 stud Spade Terminals, but they were a lot more expensive than AllElectronics. MrH

Do SSR's leak voltage while off?

The switched side of the SSR, or the side that feeds your element. I just connected the hot lead to the terminal that goes to the element and ran it back to the LED. For my 240V element, I stuck some parallel resistors in line to the LED (the LEDs are rated for 120V). MrH

Do SSR's leak voltage while off?

I use line voltage LEDs and run them off the high side. Works like a charm. :mug: MrH

    Pump Recommendations

Catt22 posted it earlier, but here it is: http://www.drillspot.com/products/72471/Little_Giant_3-MD-MT-HC_Magnetic_Drive_Pump Don't read too much into the spec sheet re temps. Not only will you rarely (if ever) truly be pumping at 212F, I've been running mine for over 15 years in my rig...

Why did my circit breaker pop?

Sorry, can't resist another suggestion, as it worked really well for me. Since you have a receptacle for your element, it's a good idea to rig up a light bulb to connect for testing. That way you're not pulling high current and you can work out wiring problems without, er, spectacular...

    Jaybird's Stainless False Bottoms

Ok, so this raises another question. With the screen hanging under the perf sheet, how much junk gets caught in between the two and how hard is it to clean as a result? Having the screen under the perf is a good idea as long as it's easy to maintain. When will these be ready? I still have to...

Why did my circit breaker pop?

There is quite a bit of conflicting information about this, so I'm going to play it safe and recommend to everyone to wire a GFCI breaker with the neutral connected back to your main panel neutral. I'm not going to offer a recommendation for ground except to say that more important than having...

    switch options

I don't see any on that catalog page that would work. Most are momentary, which means they're only on as long as you hold the button. You'd have to add a latching relay to get these to work. You can get a small watertight case and add your own button. Automation direct has some pretty cool...

    Corny Keg Fermenter?

Apart from open fermenting in kettles, I've also been fermenting in cornies for years. Most of the time you can get a good seal if you pressurize the keg until the seals set (which you've already observed). I turn this to my advantage. What I do is fill the keg with sanitizer, close it up...
