    New Red Ale recipe

This came out well. It's a dark ruby color and has a nice malty, dry flavor. Toe to toe with Sam it's darker.Flavor is similar but mine tastes a bit richer. Sam is a bit more carbed. Will do this one again for sure.

    New Red Ale recipe

Hi Guys, I'm trying a red ale recipe using Melanoidin and Honey malts (I haven't used either yet). Trying to keep it simple and get a nice color/malty flavor. I tend to like smooth, malty British ales. What do you think? (AG, 5gal batch) 8lb 2-row Malt 1lb Honey Malt 2lb Melanoidin Malt...

Clone Beer Dog Fish Head - Midas Touch

Wow, thats way too much! I went to a local indian spice store and picked up more than enough for 4.99.

Wells Bombardier English Premium Bitter Clone

This stuff aged nicely! It's now completely gone. A couple of changes I'd make for next time (after comparing it side-by-side with a pint of bombardier): - The color needs to be slightly darker - The carbonation needs to be increased - Longer time spent in secondary to help clarify it a bit...

Clone Beer Dog Fish Head - Midas Touch

Just started a variation on this today. I found a .5g package of saffron at the local Indian spice store for 4.99. Doesn't seem like a deal killer at all. I'm going to substitute loganberry juice for the grape juice and see what happens =). I'm also going to use 4.5 lb of British 2-row and 4 lb...

I am a big fan of Grampa Tony's Cider from AppleBrook Farm. Unpasteurized and delicious! http://www.applebrookfarm.com/

Wells Bombardier English Premium Bitter Clone

Had my first taste of this recipe last night. Not bad. Very thick mouthfeel. Hoppy nose and taste (but not overpoweringly hoppy like an IPA). Very drinkable, not very strong. The thick mouthfeel is what stands out to me the most. The head retention isn't great, but not awful either. Not bad for...

Wells Bombardier English Premium Bitter Clone

I gave this recipe a shot a couple of weeks ago. It's in secondary fermentation now and looks/tastes pretty good so far!
