American IPA Purring Kitten Session IPA

Anyone else brew this recipe? If so, what are your thoughts on how it turned out?

    Experience with Yakima Valley Hops?

I placed an order for hops and yeast with Yakima Valley Hops on 2/8/13. I received an incorrect order on 2/14/13. I called them that same day and told them exactly what I was missing. They said they'd send out the correct order. I received the "correct order" on 2/25/13, and it was yet...

    Heady Topper Clone (BYO)

I'll be giving this one a go this Sunday! I just saw the recipe last night in my latest issue of BYO...if my memory serves me correctly, I'm pretty sure there was some Citra in there somewhere (maybe during the dry-hop?). I'll have to check the recipe again when I get home this evening. Would...

3 FLoyds Zombie Dust attempt. Help/info requested

Brewed my 2nd batch of this on 12/29/12. My LHBS was out of 2-Row (ridiculous, I know), so I chose to use Golden Promise as my base malt. My OG was 1.067 and my FG was 1.016. Fermented w/US-04 at around 64-degrees...turned out fantastic, and in the last week has really cleared up well in the...

    Supernova IPA

It's a 5.75 gallon batch. I generally start with 5.75 or 6 gallons going into the fermentor (depending on the amount of hops), which usually gives me a full 5 gallons in the keg. This beer came out at just over 7% ABV, which keeps it closer to a standard IPA than an imperial. I really enjoyed...

3 FLoyds Zombie Dust attempt. Help/info requested

I'm taking another stab at this one on Saturday. My first batch was amazing, even though my FG was low at 1.014. This time, my LHBS was out of 2-row (imagine that). Instead I'm going with an all Golden Promise base malt and subbing Carapils for Carafoam (LHBS had no Carafoam). In order to...

    Creme Brulee Stout

Well folks, I just re-tapped this one from a January 2012 brew-day. It's been sitting in my garage fridge since around April or so. When I first tested the beer prior to kegging, for some reason I didn't get much vanilla at all. So what did I do? I added two vanilla beans to secodary for...

English Porter Black Pearl Porter (AG)

I just picked up the ingredients for this one, but made a few substitutions. My LHBS had no Crystal 30, so I went with Bairds Carastan 30-37 instead. I have no fuggin' Fuggles at the house, but I do happen to have a bunch of Willamette. So I'm subbing in the Willamette. I can't wait to see...

    Supernova IPA

My wife is my biggest critic and she LOVES this IPA. I've brewed about 30 batches so far and this is my favorite IPA recipe to date. I really wanted to maximize the hop flavor and aroma of this one, hence the additions beginning at 30-minutes and the massive dry-hop. It really worked for this...

    "Session" IPA's - let's hear it!

I'm actually enjoying this beer a lot now...it's fully carbed and the mouthfeel is a lot better than when I first tried it. It's certainly not an IPA, but it's definitely a great summer session beer. The one thing I would certainly change next time is the Summit hops. I will likely never use...
