    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I ended up grabbing this with my discount and gift card as well as a hydrometer (just been brewing blind) but skipped the refractometer for now(Though just looked on ebay and they are pretty cheap, maybe should go that route). The class itself was very helpful and made me more confident to do...

I live right by Northern Brewer and have a gift card and get 15% off at the class I take....but, a free bucket at a bakery would be better. :tank:

Thanks. I also found this which seems to have some extra headspace that may help solve some of the issues. I'll reach out to some bakeries in the area and grab a donut while I'm at it.

Awesome, I shall look into that. Will a Home Depot bucket work? I don't want to mess up with the wrong bucket :p I was hoping to make this my last extract and try a biab type process next. So definitely learning some things here. My last batch did turn out fine (it was beer and was drinkable)...

Thanks guys. I followed the directions exactly, including only using half the yeast packet. I'm going to look into a larger primary this weekend when I'm at the store for a all grain class I'm taking.

Sorry if this is been answeeed a billion times. Tried to search but it's hard in my phone. Getting back into brewing with my one gallon hub. Last two extract kits I did have produced a lot of blow off. Last time I had the tube going into jar and that just flooded. This time Ii didn't ha e my...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

Been gone a while. Haven't brewed a 1 gallon batch for a couple months (did a 5 gallon witha buddy) and usually I do the kits from Northern Brewer but looking to try a full grain (did one when I first started). I didn' thave the right equipment last time so it was a mess and wondering if anyone...

Guess I'd need to move it to the fridge though to keep it from overcarbonating then let it age? I probably will look into that. I am heading to Northern Brewer this weekend and need to pick up some things anyway so I'll probably ask about that. I've read up on the process and everything.

Tasted my 4th kit last night. Bourbon Barrel Porter kit from Northern Brewer. Has been in the bottle for just over a week. Carbonation is not there yet, but last time mine got way over carbonated so just wanted to test one. Flavor wise, it is pretty solid, though I think I realize these barrel...

So, slight issue last night. I brewed on Sunday, placed my jug in a big plastic bin, checked in on it last night to see if it was bubbling per usual, and turns out it was, just a bit too much. I had the blowoff tube in a pint glass which was now a nice brown beer color, and you can see that foam...

I've done about 3 partial kits from Northern Brewer and I have one more sitting at home waiting to be completed. After that, I think it's time to give another try to full grain. I used one of the full grain kits from Brooklyn Beer Shop and it worked well, though I made a few mistakes so the...

Here is my first try. Was the Everyday IPA from Brookly Brew Shop. It looks great, was perfectly carbonated, just wasn't super tasty. Was missing some of the hoppiness and citrus flavor I like in an IPA. It's definitely serviceable though so I'll take that as a success my first time around.

Brewing my 1 gallon kit from Northern Brew. I got another week on my first batch which was full grain from BBS. THis is much easier obviously. We'll see how it taste. My guess is good.

I was out there when the released Younger. It was good but I didn't get the hype. Much rather not wait in line and have a Surly Wet. Of course, that's just me, we are all entitled to our own opinion :)
