North Coast Old Stock Ale Clone - Help

Thank you very much for the info, I wonder if anyone can convert this to an extract recipe for me. I tried toying with beersmith but I have yet to figure that program out to the extent I need for converting a recipe. Anyone have a conversion to extract for this?

North Coast Old Stock Ale Clone - Help

Just wondering if anyone has tried this recipe and/or if anyone can comment on how close it is to the original. Had a pack of these with some friends and they are begging me to brew it! I'm still a newb at 5 batches so I am always leery of these recipes I cannot find any reviews on. I...

    DIY Sight Glass Help

I'm not so worried about the draining issue as I have no reason to be reading it while draining (this is for my boil kettle if that makes any difference). I guess the siphon out the bottom could be an issue as I am planning on making a pickup right to the bottom of the kettle. I can drill...

    DIY Sight Glass Help

I ordered the weldless fitting pictured below... I am wondering if I can find some parts at Home Depot or Lowes to incorporate a Tee fitting and use a racking cane as a sight tube coming up from the Tee. What kind of fitting would I need to secure a racking cane into the top of a Tee...

    New Labels

I didn't get a chance to put this one on a bottle yet, but here is the latest revision. I think I took care of everyones critiques ... along with some changes of my own. The only thing I am uncertain of is the hands in the corners, wrapped around the bottle it looks pretty cool as you do not...

    New Labels

The barcode & government warning were just a joke. I will be changing that side up most likely, for now its just there as filler.

New to Brewing in Florida.. Recommendations?

New to brewing myself and living in Florida I have been dealing with temperature issues... Luckily we keep our apartment at 72 so that helps a bit. So far a Rubbermaid full of water and a tshirt over my carboy keeps the temps a constant 65-68 during fermentation. A simple wet tshirt outside of...

New brewer, Full Boil + Other Misc. Questions

I considered doing a partial boil... But I like the idea of a full boil, boiling a second pot chilling & keeping it sanitized for the partial is much more of a PITA than just adjusting some calculations. My biggest concern is the boil volume but I am going to calibrate the pot before hand...

New brewer, Full Boil + Other Misc. Questions

Thanks for the info! I will have to pickup a copy of How to Brew. Do you have any recommendations for a sight glass that would be compatible with an aluminum pot? I plan on adding a spigot in the near future so I could just add a sight glass at the same time.

New brewer, Full Boil + Other Misc. Questions

Warning: This will be somewhat long & detailed, cliff notes at end! So n00b here long time lurker, new poster/brewer. I brewed my first batches a couple weeks ago after tons of research. (Phat tyre clone & Apfelwein) Just racked the Phat tyre to secondary and got a taste it was pretty good...

    New Labels

Thanks for the comments guys criticism is good! I am probably going to be changing it around some as I have some other ideas. Originally I was going for a label that could be universal and just make new images etc... But I am kind of leaning towards individual label designs not quite sure...

    New Labels

A wax imprint would be pretty sweet I will have to look into that. As for the image, I was going for a water color type look. Everything was created from scratch in photoshop.

Thanks! The images are resized so the fine details are lost, in person it is legible.

    New Labels

Figured I would share my new label design, still need to work up a neck label but here is the body label for apfelwein. My fiance came up with the "Princess Potion" for the apfelwein, we thought it was perfect so the name stuck :ban: Mitch
