Why are there no shops? I thought while making wine is legal, homebrew is not legally addressed in MS.

Has been the best so far! Just bottled the second batch of it. On the flip side Gold Seal California Common was horible due to crappy yeast. Took 2 days to take off and by then, I got a wild yeast infection. I was not too pissed, paying only $26 for it, but I would go for better yeast next...

Sampling bottles to see if they are ready.

I’m sampling batch 2, 3, 4 tonight and bottling my Apfelwein. Apfelwein tastes really good and since I’m putting in 16 oz bottles, I had about 12 left over to taste. Damn! The few store bought beer with the home brew sampling and the Apfelwein to top…….. Nice buzz~!

I figure I'll get my feet wet again with extract and then a few partials. Need to save up a few $s to get my equipment built up for AG.

Hello from the Mississippi Gulf Coast

This site has a ton on info! I moved to Ocean Springs from San Francisco 3 months before the storm. The lack of "good beer" selections in MS made me want to try brewing again. I wish MS had more micros like Lazy Magnolia! Southern Pecan rocks.

Hello from the Mississippi Gulf Coast

1 gallon of water into the primary, then added the wort (2.5 gal before boil), then topped off with 2 more gallons of water. I didn't stir, but swirled the carboy before adding the yeast. I'm thinking I might have got a bad reading. I used a sterilized turkey baster to extract the sample, but...

Hello from the Mississippi Gulf Coast

All went ok. Tried getting my OSG and got 1.03. The recipe said I should have 1.055, so we'll see how it goes.

Hello from the Mississippi Gulf Coast

Just finished my yeast starter and looking forward to my first brew in 8 years. My first couple of 5 gal batches came out a little yeasty so I quit. I will master the brew this time!
