Same question here, I make 10 gallon batches, I make 1 2liter starter and split between the 2 carboys. Is there any harm in doing this? It always seems to ferment to desired FG.
Couple questions, Is it still valid? I have 2 5lbs tanks, one is new this year from ann arbor welding and the other is out of date. I would be willing to trade if yours is still valid and could possibly meet in the lansing area for trade as I am 2 hrs away from GR. Thanks, Jeremy
Yes they are the real deal. They say Cornelius keg corp Minnesota on them. And they came with plastic. I have several kegs but not with plastic. Was just wondering if anyone had problem or good things with them.
This is a cool idea. The problem with using it to run wort through it is this, it has small fins just like a car radiator, them fins are so small that if any hop or grain residue would plug it up easily. Then you run into a problem of cleaning it out and sanitizing it, and not being able to flow...
I use a product called glass etch. it can be bought at a hobby store like hobby lobby or Michael's cost about $10. Put it on with a small paint brush and let it sit for a bit and wipe off with glass cleaner and paper towel.
I recently picked up 3 new corny kegs(genuine article, not them china made ones) for nothing. They have red plastic tops with manual relief valves. Has anyone ever had any experience with these? Will the plastic tops be ok for beer?
On my glass fermenters I bought some polyurethane caulk and smeared the bottom with about 1/4" of it so i don't worry about setting it down. I also used silglaze on the perimeter kind of like a spider web pattern. I have now fear now in case they accidentally clank together.
Another question, I just picked up 3 cornelius- spartan kegs. They appear to be in brand new shape if not used once. Not a single dent or scratch on these. But they have a plastic lid with pressure relief. Should I worry about the tops and replacement e them or just roll with them?
I called and left a message. I want to come get these but I need to know where you live. can you please call me back? I am coming from an hour away or my brother who lives in lansing is going to come and harvest them for you.
Thanks,
Jeremy
