    Welding Shop CO2 - Medical grade

    I thought I would share that I got my 20 lb CO2 tank filled today at my local Capweld chain store. It cost $15.86 out the door. The guy said they actually buy all medical grade because once they bought another grade and it smelled a bit sulfurous because the purification wasn't good enough...

    dimple and solder herms coil thru HLT wall?

    I am using stainless, but you're right it might get knocked around sticking out of the kettle wall. I have ordered the coil, but I don't have it yet. I'm not sure how sturdy the stainless tubing is compared to the copper.

    It seems like people never remove their HLT herms coil and that there is little reason to remove it for cleaning. I was thinking of just using a step bit to drill and then dimpling the hole and silver soldering the stainless coil sticking right through the sides of the tun to do away with...

    Does anyone have any feedback on these?

    Boomer, did you get your kettle and what did you think of it? It looks like he is selling both flat lid 100qt and stepped lid 100qt pots like the Blichmann. It's clearly different handles that the Blichmann, but looks similar:
