    Need to Read!

Thanks Everybody!! I need to get back into it!! Hopefully starting a new read will help bring back that spark and keep my mind right. Keep the suggestions coming so other Brewers can see.

    Need to Read!

Brewers!! Sorry I haven't been on much for a while. My position was cut back in February and I had to step down to a grunt it out position at work. So I don't have as much time on my hands for home brewing as I did before. 2016 is becoming a whirl wind for my career and it's affecting my home...

    Water Conservation When Brewing

Good article!! I use the water from my counterflow to clean my kettles, but not all of it. And I was wondering how I can save that water as well. Making a mix of Star San is genius! I'm doing that next time!

    First E-Brew Day

Ladies and Gentlemen we have lift off!! I'd did my second brew on the new system and it went really smooth with the boil this time. I ended up looking at my settings in my BK/HLT PID and they were all out of wack. Must have been from when I tried to do an autotune. So I returned everything to...

    Acidulated Malt

Brewers, I'm thinking of try acidulated malt in my next IPA to help with a little crispness. I also need to adjust my PH slighty in my mash. I'm not at the point of brewing salts yet for the PH (I'm on a well with SUPER hard water and I don't know the water report). Anyway, just need some...

    El Dorado w/ Galaxy

I have seen a couple of recipes, but wanted some more personal input. Sounds like it is a good tropical ipa attempt. I was thinking about using the 2oz of Galaxy at 15 or 10 min addition and the El Dorado for a whirlpool addition. Oh, and I like to use clear candy syrup to dry out my IPA's to...

    El Dorado w/ Galaxy

Brewers, I have 2oz Galaxey and 2oz El Dorado and I am wondering if these two pair well together. I would like to use them up, as they are just sitting in the fridge. I'm thinking a simple IPA grain bill, Mangum as the bittering hop, and WLP001 as the yeast. Any input is greatly appreciated...

    Pale Ale

Jimbodaman, I feel ya with the grain bill. The last time I made it with C*40 it was just a little sweet, but I have brewed it with Honey Malt before and it wasn't over powering. I have switch to the Honey malt in my IPA's too. I like the color it gives and the sweetness isn't as strong as...

    Pale Ale

That's awesome! I would say it's a small world, but I know there is a lot of Michigan Members on here. Not much to do in the winter time besides drink beer!

    Pale Ale

Maybe what I will do is dry hop the keg and nothing for bottling. I usually split the batch when it comes to packaging it. Half goes into one my 2.5 gal kegs and the rest gets bottled around 2-2.5gal. I haven't tried the dry hop keg yet, but maybe this is the perfect chance. Noted! Thanks!

    Pale Ale

Brewers, I haven't brewed this particular recipe since last summer. I have since made some changes and would love some feed back. Thanks in advance! Name: Drunken Sailor Type: Pale Ale/ IPA (I like hops!) Mash: Infusion at 153-154*f maintained with RIMS Eff: 65-70% (only brewed once on the...

    Italy Beer

Awesome guys! I am taking notes! I love some good wine with my wife, but I am a beer man at heart. Although we will be eating my favorite type of foods; olive oil, bread, cured meats, and sea food. I will keep an eye out for any local brew pubs too, you know the types that are to small to...

    Italy Beer

Brewers! I will be going around Italy pretty soon. I know they are not really a beer region, but maybe the community here knows so good local beer in Italy. Let me hear it guys! -Dogman

    First E-Brew Day

Well guys!! I haven't done any adjustments to the system yet, but I will my next brew. I have the blonde on tap now and the bottles are carbing up. You will all be happy to here that there seems to be no off flavored from the brew process. No burnt or scorched tastes what's so ever. I believe my...

    First E-Brew Day

Mine is not a ripple. It's a 5500w straight stainless element that's in the BK. Not sure if that makes a difference.
