    Bottle label removal

    oxy clean or star san does the trick. i buy guiness extra stout in the short bottles. the labels come off after 5 minutes in hot water and they take up less room.

    How to clean hoses...

    i do something similar, outside of course, but i use my garden hose and blow "spitballs" of wadded up paper towels soaked in water through them

    actually you can buy beer in grocery stores here but it has to be in a designated area that is separate from the rest of the store, yeah our laws are so screwed up...

    not dissolving the sugar on the stove was your problem, some are going to be over carbed and some are going to have no carbonation.

    nope it will give you a better chance of hitting your fg where you want it but more yeast doesnt equal more alcohol. more sugar = more alcohol

    don't forget Frost Brewed! How could you "brew" beer at cold temperatures? i guess Frost Fermented doesnt have the catch....

    Yep my thermometer is off tested it against an alcohol one mine is digital and my mash temp was probably more like 145 probably didn't get conversion. Well poop live and learn I guess. It will still get you drunk but it's going to be more like an ipa in hoppiness now.

    Yeah it was four gallons and I added everything. Maybe my thermometer is off or the trub concentration threw the reading off. I took a sample after it was fermenting and I actually got a reading of 1.050 with a lot of foam. Well see how she tastes in a few weeks I guess. I'm starting to think my...

    I mean I thought I stirred well for about 2 minutes and shook the carboy to aerate I did have more trub than expected in the bottom about maybe 3/4 of an inch worth
