I brewed a strong winter ale extract kit with an OG of 1.086 I didn't have time to make a starter so I pitched two vials of WL dry English ale yeast. My FG is supposed to be 1.017 but after three weeks its stopped at 1.030. Is there anything I can do to get this to finish?
So I had a stone imperial Russian stout awhile back that had a nice licorice after taste. I'm about to brew a strong winter that I would like to add this to. Any ideas?
Don't mean to be a pain but I understand primary fermentation. I'm really new to brewing I have done 4 and 1/2 extract kits. I've never done a " big beer " just trying to figure out if I need to buy a 5 gal carboy and do my first secondary to age this beer or if I would have the same results...
I understand racking into a secondary I guess I was confused by the wording "2 stage fermentation " and I want to know how long I can leave a big beer on the yeast cake without any adverse effects.
