I didn't think these had a gravity dispenser? Assuming they don't, I would have to drill for a tap, which is more work and money.
I also liked the idea of sitting this in an ice bath and a gravity tap wouldn't work like that.

Hmmm seems like a waste of time based on those results. Though it's not my situation exactly since I'm starting with cider and he started with juice. I think I'll try for the heck of it anyway.

Picked up some local cider and its SG is 1.07. If I toss some bread yeast in a gallon for the heck of it how can I expect it to come out? How long should I wait to do gravity readings to check if done fermenting? Never used bread yeast but I'm trying JOAM so thought it might be a logical...
So using 1/2 cup LME from my kit won't hurt my SG for my wort?
EDIT: Just remembered (duh) I have priming sugar that was included with my kit. Could I use that as my starter?
I would estimate the temperature of the pack around 120-150 when I found it. It was HOT to the touch, not just warm.
I only have access to brown sugar or table sugar until I make another online order. How would I make a starter with either of these?
