Anyone tried this low cost oxygen flow meter?

Yeah, I ordered 2 of them. They're not perfect for the job because they're designed to measure higher flows so 1 lpm is on the very low end of the scale. That being said it was certainly better than nothing because at first it wasn't reading anything and it turns out that my cylinder was...

Anyone tried this low cost oxygen flow meter?

It won't translate to ppm. As I understand it there is no way to directly measure that for under about $1000. The next best thing is to have a repeatable process. The stuff I've read all lists oxygenation times assuming a flow rate of 1 lpm through a 0.5 micron stone, but I've never had a way...

Anyone tried this low cost oxygen flow meter?

I've been looking for something for a while to measure the flow rate from my oxygen cylinder that didn't cost too much and came across this today. Anybody tried it? http://www.activeforever.com/p-25637-oxyview-oxygen-flow-meter.aspx?cm_mmc=froogle-_-na-_-oxyview-oxygen-flow-meter-_-50379

    No Sparge Calculation Help

That is a great graph, where did it come from? You guys are right, 62% is for medium gravity brews and I haven't ever done something this high before. On the graph I'm assuming that the gravity it's talking about it pre boil gravity. In that case it seems to suggest higher efficiencies than...

    No Sparge Calculation Help

So I'm trying to formulate a no sparge version of Jamil Zainascheff's English Barleywine recipe and I'm confused. The two methods of calculating no sparge scale factors in Palmers book give very different results. JZ's recipe has 20.4 lbs of grain with an average FGDB congress yield of 36.7...

Thanks for all the feedback guys. It's nice to find out that something you were worried about is actually a good place to start from. shutupjojo - thats a great story, Blodget would be an awesome place to get married. We've only been living here a year but we're loving the mountains and...

Whole house filter takes EVERYTHING out of my water

Looking to brew my first all grain batch this weekend and so I got a water analysis done by Ward labs. All the water in our house gets filtered and as a result there is very little left in term of the ions that Palmer talks about in his book. For example he lists the calcium brewing range at...

1.020 after 3 weeks, is my ferment stuck?

I'm Brewing an Irish Red kit from More Beer. Went to bottle today after 3 weeks in primary and the FG was 1.020. It tastes a bit sweet as well. OG was supposed to be 1.050 but mine was 1.059, I can't explain the higher OG since I used all the grains and extract in the kit and ended up with...
