Used to use regular Oxyclean and with a thorough rinse had no issues. Started using Oxyclean free, though, and still rinse well, but never have any perfume issues. Play it safe and go with the free if you can. I find it at Walmart.

27 and brewing for the last year and a half

Doing an all Amarillo late-hopped pale ale. First time doing an all late-hopped pale; very much looking forward to it.

Absolutely considered brewing. It was one of the big criteria we had when looking last July. Had to have a place with either a detached garage or basement space for brewing. Ended up with basement space of about 600sqft. SWMBO loves it because it keeps my stuff out of her way.

I like to stir the wort into a whirlpool while adding the flameout hops. Then I wait until the whirlpool has slowed (5-10 min) and begin pumping into my chiller at that point. By waiting for the whirlpool to slow, I am confidant that the hops and trub have formed a good pile in the middle of...
