    Crushable NEIPA

That's a good idea, if you cut the ABV by 25%, that means you can drink 25% more!

Evidence for when to dry hop

Forgive me if this is a subject beaten to death already, because I've read a lot of threads on when the best time to dry hop is, exactly. Ok, so "best" is subjective, so I'm looking for maximum oil extraction and retention, so I get the most into the bottle/keg. That's a better metric I think...

    Kettle size

Thanks, yeah, not too worried. More out of a heat transfer curiosity than anything else. My efficiencies, when I remember to pay attention to them, have always been fine.

    Kettle size

I brew 2.5 gallon BIAB batches with a 5 gallon pot. I typically run grain bills in the 4 - 7 lb neighborhood, mash somewhere between 1 - 2 qts/lb, and batch sparge with just my DHW @ 130F to get to my pre-boil volume, usually 3.5 gallons. Last I checked I was getting over 80% using the...

Pain in the Eis- Overshot OG by a country mile

Thanks str1p3s. Hydrometer is good. I did check it about a year ago, but I can't think it'd change unless I dropped it and chipped the lead or glass, which I haven't. You're right on point 2 that it definitely would get denser after cooling which I didn't think of, but I was a little over 2.5...

Pain in the Eis- Overshot OG by a country mile

Hey all, I don't post much, mostly just absorb the wisdom here :D, so this may be more appropriate for the beginners forum, but anyway, here's my deal. I brewed yesterday what would be considered probably closest to an Eisbock, although I'm using San Fran lager yeast so I can ferment in a...

Easy Stovetop All-Grain Brewing (with pics)

If you went with the wood floating lid that fit well, you could even drill a hole in the middle and connect the beater of a hand mixer there and leave it there for the duration of the mash... and then turn the beater on periodically to agitate and maybe improve the efficiency.

Easy Stovetop All-Grain Brewing (with pics)

Hey all, I'm new here. I didn't read this entire thread so forgive me if this has already been suggested- On the issue of temp loss and lack of head space being conducive to heat retention... If you're using a bigger pot or doing a partial mash maybe with less water, or for whatever other...
