Thanks for all of the input. I did make a 2.5 L starter from the get go, so I think I had a decent pitch rate. Gonna keg and drink!

    Stout FG too high? 1.026 w/ wlp001

This stout has been fermenting for over a month. Tried to rouse the yeast and bring the temperature up from ~63F to ~70F, and am not seeing any decrease in specific gravity. Any suggestions? OG was 1.075 and FG is sitting at 1.026. this gives an apparent attenuation of 64% which seems really low...

    Little Sumpin Wild Clone

Hey guys, I've been searching for a LSW clone with no luck. I've found tons on little Sumpin and relistened to Jamils CYBI episode. I was wondering if anyone knew if there are any differences in grist/hops between little Sumpin and LSW. Or is it basically the same with Westmalle yeast...

Using Blowoff Tube to Harvest Yeast @ High Krausen

Hello people! I am currently brewing an english mild that is a little over 24 hrs. into fermentation. I'm brewing an oatmeal stout tomorrow, and would like to harvest some of the 1968 from the mild tonight to pitch tomorrow. I currently have a blowoff tube rigged (3/16) to the fermenter...

Hello Nub Here Has a question.

So after about 1 and 1/2 days you stopped noticing airlock activity? That sounds normal for lower abv beers. Also it shouldn't smell like an ipa so I think you are probably ok there. And you said you took a gravity reading and didn't see any floating? At what point in the fermentation process...

Oatey Stout Recipe. Check it out!

Great thanks for all the input guys. Might throw some black patent back in and up the roasted barley since I'm looking for a robust roasty stout.

Oatey Stout Recipe. Check it out!

So i tweaked the recipe a little bit went down on the C120 and dropped the Patent. Also upped the chocolate and base malts as well as both hop additions. Also, I raised the mash temp to 158 to get a bit more body. Think that is a little much? I typically mash around 152 but thought this...

    Pale Ale Recipe help/check

Took a sample from the fermenter for a gravity reading. I kept it at about 64-65 for the first 4 days, then gradually upped the temp to about 68-69. The beer is still quite cloudy with yeast as expected. The gravity 6 days after brewday is 1.015, that's about 72% attenuation from it's OG of...

Oatey Stout Recipe. Check it out!

Sounds good. Does caravienne add to head retention? Good idea switching the chocolate and 120. I'm also going to add the cold brewed coffee to the keg. I'm pretty excited to play around with it. Thanks for the input!

    Keg noob without keezer question!

Hey guys, My lady recently got me a kegging setup which of course caused me to be super pumped. My landlord wants me to have a beer ready for his Super Bowl party, so I brewed a pale ale yesterday. I plan on force carbing the beer, but I don't have a way to chill it. I don't have the money to...
