    Did I ruin it? 3.5 month Primary ferment with fruit still there

    Strain, and age. if it is fuel-ish, almost certainly enough alcohol in there to keep anything nasty from killing you. "Fusel alcohols are formed when fermentation occurs at higher temperatures at lower pH when yeast activity is limited by low nitrogen content" Fusels apparently will age out...

    Swing-top gasket issues

    I tried side cutting pliers, will try Oxiclean. It hadn't occurred to me that they were manufactured like that, but that might be why they won't come off. I don't really want to buy new tops as they will cost more than I paid for the bottles. :(
