    Just goofed my NEIPA

This happened to be the last time I kegged a NEIPA. In a panic I had to quickly change plans and use a good 'ol fashion auto-siphon. Somehow the beer turned out fine.

    Brewtoad and whirlpool IBUs

Interestingly enough there is an article about IBUs in the latest Zymurgy. Not sure of all the details just yet as I just browsed it, but it talks about 60+ min additions not adding more IBUs.

    Brewtoad and whirlpool IBUs

If you cooled to 170F before your whirlpool, you shouldn't have added any more IBUs as you are below the isomerization temp. As far I know that stops around 175F.

Looking for an IPA kit that tastes like...

I think this looks pretty good. I'd probably leave the Carapils out of the mash and use Briess Golden Light since it already has Carapils in it. I'd also dry hop with a combination of the hops above and not just Simcoe. A Simcoe / Cascade blend would be great.

Is a 60-minute boil really necessary?

I brew a lot of 30 minute batches, mainly because I teach a lot of brewing classes and there is too much dead time in a 60 minute boil. You'll have to tweak your recipes on both your bittering and late hop additions.

Good points and thanks for posting it here. I'm actually looking at a way to create recipes without having to sign up. I think a lot of users would like that option.

That's pretty far off. I'll look for your recipe and recreate it in BeerSmith to see why it varies. This has been a problem. The recipes automatically save, but the publish process is manual. I've gotta find a way to make it more obvious that a recipe can't be seen unless it's public. We'll...

Thanks for the input and really good point. I'll work on a conversion option. Right now a recipe is locked into whatever unit are used to create it.

Introducing MIBrew, free, easy to use recipe builder

You rock! Thank you so much for this. We did about 4 months of beta testing with some key users but I know there are still things we can be doing better. See my notes below: I've struggled with this for a while mostly due to my stubbornness of wanting the batch size to be the volume that is...
