    how to connect these parts

I think you got the wrong Ranco, or the wrong thermowell. It should fit. Did you pick the parts yourself, or did you order them as a kit?

Natural gas hookup to two burners

I'm not one to normally put down another person's work, but a few comments: 1. Is there a valve somewhere close by in case you need to shut that off, for example, if the QD did'n't seal? I'd probably want a gas rated valve to shut off before the QD when not in use. 2. Gas uses black pipe...

All Grain Brewing in a Garage During the Winter?

I guess I am lucky, my basement walks out to the garage, so I can mash/wash/work in the basement, and then walk out through the garage to boil outside. I did brew on a cold 10* day in January, and since I do have water pipes running through the garage, I tried brewing in the garage. I...

    Oxygen?

I get the red canisters at HD - and I have a "regulator" (read valve) that fits their left-hand-thread. You mention that you have the stone & regulator already? - find you what the regulator will fit on to. If it is the same kit found here, it looks like you need the little red canister...

    Sanitizer Bucket

Yep - another vote for StarSan - it lasts a looooong time. I keep it in an old keg all the time.

    LED light and beer

Good questions - and I don't have an answer - but keep in mind you said it has glass doors - so any natural light will get in there too, no? Perhaps you could blackout the doors and switch the inside lights off? Is that an option?

    Carboy Caps instead of stops

I guess I should have stated that I am not all to concerned about bacteria getting in under a lose carboy cap - rather the airlock or blowoff tube won't bubble if it is lose. That is important to me to gague fermentation. I often times ferment colder than "normal", and fermentation can take a...

How cold is too cold for a lager

Lagers take much longer to ferment when they are in the 40's, but you say there is airlock activity, so it is moving in the right direction! You can't rush a lager.

    Carboy Caps instead of stops

I use carboy caps for primary, and I do use a big zip tie around them to keep them tight, as they will leak.

    Any accountants here???

Another thumbs up for TurboTax. I like how everytihng is carried over from last year, and you can compare what you entered for last years return for each section as you go- makes it easy to see if you missed something you previously utilized. I used to buy the delxue version of TT at a store...

    Tea Balls for dry hopping.

I have a satinless one, the pin holding the latch did rust off afte the 2nd use. I now just tie it together with a small piece of string that soaked in StarSan. No problems with that method yet.
