    I have an older version of "Silver Indoor and Outdoor Thermometer - Weather 200 Model # RMR202S" from http://us.oregonscientific.com (edit> sorry, direct link not working) it will measure and keep track of highest and lowest of three remote sensors and where ever the box is sitting.

    What Chris7687 said, It is far form the most efficient setup but it will work. An ideal setup would be a controller with both a heat and a cool set of contacts but its on such a small scale it will work ether way.

    I'm working on one, so far i have the rollers done. I made them out of sprinkler pipe. The frame I plan to make out of 6061.
