I think one thing I'm really gonna miss about Hawaii when I move is stopping at the bar after work for Kona's Golden Ale. We also have another brewery on the Hilo side called Mehana. They have a great porter.

Go Yuri! We have Longhammer on tap at a pub down the road and its much better on tap IMO. I think its lame that the guy just wanted help and all he got was crap. Thanks Yuri for sticking up for him.

I just brewed this last Wednesday and I agree that the instructions were a bit vague. They were written as if someone was talking you through it. As for the candi sugar its a pound of mixed light, med and dark. Funny thing is they don't tell you what kind of grains or hops are included...

I'm glad I found this thread. Last night I got a starter going with my Pacman yeast. Woke up today and there was no krausen. So thanks for answering this guys, I have been freaking out all morning.:mug:

Does anyone know of any decent lhbs in the upstate S.C. area? I'm moving from Hawaii in october. The real bummer is I just got a job at a swank little place where the owner shuts down on sunday to do group brews.:(

Hawaiian Airlines i giving a limited number of vouchers for people who purchased tickets through Aloha. The local news says that if you paid cash then you will have to get your money through a bankrutcy court. Be sure to check out Maui Brewing while your there. Hope everything works out.
