    Kegging space

Getting into kegging for the first time. Yay! I am brewing 1 to 2.5 gallons. I've found 2.5 gallon kegs and 3 gallon kegs. Do I need to buy a keg larger than my batch for CO2 space? Or can I brew 2.5 gallons and rack into 2.5 gallon keg?

Where to plant hops in high heat relative to the sun(Dallas/Ft Worth)

Jumping in to a somewhat old thread, but any issues with critters eating into the hop? Where I live in San Antonio we have squirells that wreak havoc on any thing that is planted. I've had a prune plant in my backyard that I've never been able to enjoy because of the critters.

Eight year old beer still in carboy (pic)

I once had a 5 year old homebrew that I found like you. I drank it. It wasnt going to win any awards but it was drinkable. Came in handy when I found myself at home yearning for a drink and had Texas snow in day. Who knows what style it was, but it didnt matter.

    Back at it

I took a break from brewing and next thing I realized 5 years went by. Just like that. I recently got an itch to brew but I struggled with the logistics of collecting my equipment - some in the garage, some in a closet, and some elsewhere. I remembered that I had interest in brewing 1 gallon...

It is extract brewing so I am with you that exact temperatures are not that important. I'm moving forward with my guesstimates. I should have searched the forum before posting I now realize that this has been posted before, it was just my knee-jerk reaction to reach out to my brew comrades.

    Open Container, or is it?

Just for the sake of conversation, I thought I would put this out in the forum and see what kind of discussions I get. I use party pigs with my home brews. I have one party pig in my refrigerator right now and I was planning on going over to my father in laws house to watch some sports. I...

    Lone Star Rally anyone?

Bones, I'm embarrassed to say that I had never heard of this rally, and I live in San Antonio. I looked at the website and it looks like a really cool rally. It's not going to be possible for me to make it out this year, but I'll look out for it next year.

    Help: Party Pig Pouch Problem

I'm with CremaCat (Mark), I use my foot to pump the bulb. This methods works great for me, and I have not had any of the problems described above. I really am a fan of the party pig. I usually bottle half of my batch, and pig the other half. I just bought a second party pig so that I can...
