buy the blow-off that just sticks right into the top of the carboy... no stopper. it should be thick enough to handle just about anything. couple brews ago i had enough yeast and beer in the blowoff that the krausen in my blowoff collection fell and i knew it had fallen in the beer. crazy stuff.

and you may not want the dry-hop. by the time this thing gets good and drinkable, i doubt there will be much of the dry-hop aroma left.

When I FWH, I use late additions. I usually put in a 20-30 minute addition as a FWH. A lot use their 60 min. I don't think there is any hard rule, just try it. but be sure you do, cuz I love it personally. While this is revived, I have been thinking about doing an all FWH brew. Pale/IPA...
