Swapping Pilsner with 2 row or Marris otter

I agree that two row would be closest. Oktoberfest being a malty style and the amount of Munich and aromatic in the recipe you probably would be fine with the MO either way you will make beer.

    Saison Cottage House Saison

Sorry for the double post, I also forgot to add the pepper to the boil but I think it would work with this hop combo.

    Saison Cottage House Saison

Brewed this a few weeks ago used Sorachi Ace, EKG, and lemon drop. Added the zest of two lemons to the boil. Fermented with Belle Saison at ambient temps ( ~74). Really loving this right now. I will be brewing this again soon.

I frequent a bar that has ~10 taps dedicated to 3F and rarely order any of their stuff. I would love to get my hands on some RR...

    Aerate with a paint stirrer?

I have an aerator that works in much the same way but is all stainless with folding "wings" so it can fit into a regular carboy mouth. You should be fine as long as it is clean, sanitized, and not made of reactive material.

    Trub this!

Ill give this one a shot the rest of you feel free to correct anything I get wrong. Trub is the stuff at the bottom of the fermenter after your beer has finished primary fermentation. In wine/ mead making it is called lees. The stuff in your kettle after the boil is a combination of hop...

    Local Only Trade (LOT)

I love this idea! I want jump in but I am kind of close to 10mm. Comparing distribution maps for both of our states (Indiana,Ohio) looks like I should wait. Now I have a reason to buy more beer!:ban:

Anyone used whiskey yeast for a big beer

I did this with a RIS earlier this year. Split the batch between 070 and 007 to compare flavors and because I didn't want to throw out a whole batch of a big beer . They are still bulk aging but 070 Bourbon batch samples I tried at transfer had a noticeable whiskey/Bourbon flavor compared to 007...
