    Gumballhead Clone

Hey Spaceman, I'm looking to brew a Gumballhead Clone as my next beer (I've never even had the beer, it just sounds awesome), and was wondering if you could comment on how the beer turned out with using aromatic malt. A bunch of these clone recipes I've been looking over typically have wheat...

    American IPA Citra IPA

HOLY COW THIS RECIPE IS FREAKING AWESOME. I just drank my first bottle of it. It has been exactly a month ago since I brewed this beer, so talk about being fresh. I only did a 2-week fermentation, 11-day dry hop in the secondary, and now this bottle has only been bottled for 4 days. Citra...

    Brew-On-Premise (BOP) Business?

Yeah... unfortunately that's the case. It just seems like a great, fun idea. Do you remember the names of those businesses? Also how was the beer you made at the BOP's?

    Brew-On-Premise (BOP) Business?

So the past few days I've been thinking about the possibiltiy of opening a BOP. I've read a lot of stories on the internet of these businesses shutting down, as well as there being a handful of ones that are successful. Has anyone been to a BOP, and do you think this business could do well in...

    American IPA Citra IPA

Hey Battery, I brewed your recipe up this past Sunday. I up'ed the grain bill about 30% and up'ed the hops a little bit to get a bigger IPA (http://hopville.com/recipe/1651514), but I just wanted to say thanks for the recipe. I just sampled the beer (it is currently sitting at 1.032 down from...

Imperial Stout Russian Imperial Stout (2011 HBT Competition Category Winner)

I just sampled my batch after it had been fermenting for 5 days (it has gone down from 1.100 to 1.040) and WOW was I already impressed. This is going to be a good batch, probably one of my best!

Munich as a base malt for RIS?

The first thing that came to my mind when looking at the recipe is that your gonna want more IBU's. I would add an extra ounce of Tomahawk IMO. EDIT: Didn't see all of the roasted malt your using. I can see why your only adding 2 oz of Tomahawk.

Imperial Stout Russian Imperial Stout (2011 HBT Competition Category Winner)

You know I've been thinking about this concept for the past week or so. When I brewed this beer this past Friday, I came to the realization that the more grains you have means having less sparge water. I kept to the OP's recipe and used 1.25qt/lb, however do people use 1.00qt/lb for bigger...

Imperial Stout Russian Imperial Stout (2011 HBT Competition Category Winner)

Hey everyone, I brewed this beer today and I must say that it was an incredibly fun brewday. I do have a question. My LHBS did not have Special B, and instead had Weyermann CaraAroma. I went ahead and substituted the special b for the caraaroma. Any idea how that will impact the flavor on...

Great commercial! As everyone else has said, I would definitely shop in your store.

American IPA Bee Cave Brewery IPA

I am loving this IPA EdWort, absolutely fantastic. The centennial really has a huge orange taste which makes it very palatable. I used the same ratio of malts. I did cut back the bittering hop addition just a tad just to experiment. I ended up going for 62 IBU's, and my starting gravity was...

What can a brew with 3 lbs of Pilsen and 3 lbs of White Wheat?

I'm about to brew a Berliner Weisse with literally 3 lb of pilser and 3 lb of white wheat. Get some lactobacillus, an ounce of hallertauer, as well as some yeast, and your ready to brew a 5 gallon batch of it!

70 degrees was the highest it got on the fermometer

    Strong Bitter Common Room ESB

So I brewed this beer a week ago, and fermentation started 12 hours after pitching, and then 24 hours after that it was done and had an FG of 1.013 (safale 04 is insane). However, I just sampled my ESB, and I've got to say I'm really disappointed. I think I'm tasting a fusel alcohol off...

    Strong Bitter Common Room ESB

So the highest caramel malt my LHBS had was Caramel 120. I grabbed 0.25 lb of that. Do you think this will work? Should I grab something else to compensate for the lack of color that the higher caramel would have given the beer?
