    Complete brewing and dispensing system

Hi All, I was able to sell the complete system to someone local. Perfect outcome. Thanks, everyone. This forum is great.

    Complete brewing and dispensing system

Thanks. I had a pretty significant (positive) response when I stopped drinking. With two young boys, I figured I had better make the tough choices to stay as healthy as I can. Wasn't really such a tough choice, ultimately...

    Complete brewing and dispensing system

Hi All, Thanks for your interest. I've decided I won't be parting it out for at least a few more weeks. The whole system is still for sale, but I have a buyer in the wings who'll take the whole system pending some job news (layoff notices) in May. I just really don't have the energy to part...

    Complete brewing and dispensing system

Road trip! I'd say come and brew for a weekend, and then haul the gear and full carboys home. But that would probably break a number of laws, unless transporting unfermented wort across state lines is OK...

    Complete brewing and dispensing system

Hi All, I'm near La Crosse. I'm hoping to sell it all together, but if I don't get any takers I'll consider parting it out starting next week. Thanks!

    Complete brewing and dispensing system

SOLD - thanks for your interest. I had to give up drinking beer due to health issues. :( See the complete listing and pics in this Craiglist ad: http://madison.craigslist.org/spo/2964376634.html I'd prefer to sell everything together, but could split up the brewing side from the...

    Counterflow Chiller Tutorial

I soldered a connector on the wort-in tube to use my McMaster QC, and that worked great. On the wort-out i just used a normal hose to go into the carboy. The leaks were all on the garden hose where I just had those clamped onto the 1/2" brass tubing. Maybe I'll pursue a soldered solution there...

    Counterflow Chiller Tutorial

I built mine one evening last week. I used 20' of 3/8 copper. Used it to brew a batch yesterday. In Wisconsin in January, our tap water is pretty cold, but the wort still came out a tad too warm. 25' might be the sweet spot. One question - how do you get the rubber to clamp tightly to the...

    Quick Disconnect Question

If you go with the McMaster parts, I highly recommend the right-angle barb connections, at least for the keg connections. Depending on how your pump is oriented, you might want them there, too.

    Where to get Metal Stock?

Sometimes the best places aren't obvious. In my town, I get the prices from a place that does driveshaft repair. I was shopping at more expensive (and obvious) steel supply places, and this guy was selling steel for about 1/3 less. Much nicer to deal with, too (doesn't treat you like an idiot if...

cornstarch test on ge upright freezer

Sometimes the schematic on the back will tell you where the lines run. I know on my fridge it was clear from the diagram that there were no lines running through the side I was tapping.

    LPG Piping Questions

I'm building a single-tier with high pressure, too. Because most of the flexible hoses at the local box stores are low pressure, I'm also going to be using flexible copper from the valve (high pressure) to the burners, too. The valves only have 1/4" out, so I'm inclined to think 3/8" copper...

    Gas lines for manifold

I'd pay attention to the pressure ratings, particularly if your rig is high pressure.

    Manifold Question

If by washer hose you mean the stainless steel mesh you pull off a flexible hose, I've never had a problem with it doing 5 gallon batches. I'll be switching to a keggle MLT soon, and am hoping to use a similar setup there with 10 gallon batches. We'll see if the extra grain and the smaller...

Simple single tier with high pressure propane

Quite right. Should be fixed in the original post now.
