    Relocating to Omaha

Still think that Brass Monkey beats Cresent for brews on tap.

    Relocating to Omaha

Im here in Omaha as well. I have met with a couple of the guys in a few of the brew clubs, and they seem like a pretty good group. If you are just looking for someone to brew with, Im just learning and really dont know what I am doing, but would be happy to drink a few.

Today's Can I save this / I'm an idiot thread.

Anyone chance anyone has beersmith handy and can give me a guess on how much water I would need in each batch?

Today's Can I save this / I'm an idiot thread.

Would I need to boil the hops for an hour to get the full bittering out of them? And I get that I would need to boil 5 more gallons of water, split the wort I have into 2 buckets, dump in the water and hop water then toss another yeast batch in each?

Would this big of a wheat turn out well? Or how would I split it to go that route? Just boil 1/2 of it up with another 2 1/2 gallons of water, and same with the other half (would assume adding some hops)? Like the idea of the big beer though since I already brewed it though ;)

K, so the kind folks at AHS were kind enough to send my an extra 7# bucket of wheat LME with my Dunkelweizen kit that I bought! Sadly, I wish that I would have noticed this before I brewed this afternoon. OG came out around 1.103 or so, so it MIGHT be a little heavy.... How bad is this going...

    Too many kits?

Thats the plan, at least right now.... 1st batch just got moved to secondary (ok, so im piling up here pretty quick), so primary is open. Picked up a 'starter kit' w/ a 30qt stainless pot off of CL for $30, so have another one sitting there bored too. If it wasn't my first AG, I MIGHT try...

    Too many kits?

So I bought 3 kits, 1 extract and 2 milled grain. Now I am wondering what I need to do with these, and how do I keep them so they don't go bad? Do they all need to go into the fridge? Freezer? Right now, I have the yeast in the fridge, and the rest of the stuff in the basement (~62...

    Frist brew question

Im not that frustrated with them, I realize that they are probably getting a TON more response then they expected. And I should be letting my beer sit and ferment anyway, so its easier to leave it be this way. Do also have an extra oz of hops coming, just incase I do decided to rack it over...

    Frist brew question

I brewed up a kit IPA about 3 weeks ago, and am wondering if I should rack it to secondary or not. I know that there is a lot of discussions on the pros vs. cons of doing a secondary at all on here, and I was planning on it, however, I was going to work on moving it over last week (just since...

    Austin Home Brew $20 kits??

Im thinking about trying out all grain, and for $20 for a pre-measured out kit with everything you need, this sounds like a decent deal.

    Austin Home Brew $20 kits??

Austin Homebrew has some $20 kits for their 20th Anniversary. Are these a really good deal, or am I just too new to this to realize that they aren't that good.... http://www.austinhomebrew.com/index.php?cPath=178_452_638
