    First brew - High specific gravity?

    Bill, Answer: No clue. I didn't crack, steep, or mash any grain. This kit comes as a 15L bag of wort (kind of like those picnic sized juice boxes with a bag inside), a pouch of yeast, a pouch of potasium bicarbonate (to neutralize the phosphoric acid acting as a preservative in the wort)...

    The room temperature around here is 25C (77F). Is that beyond the bounds of what's acceptable? Should I pack ice around the primary fermenter or something? Thanks again, Jordan R. Urie
