    Show us your panel

Thanks, in South Africa our standard receptacles are only rated up to 15A so had to go with these, they are Gewiss IEC 309 HP receptacles rated for up to 32A, my other alternative was to use stove receptacles which is similar to the Gewiss ones but all metal and heavy and to be honest did not...

    Show us your panel

Finally wrapped up my panel today after about a month since starting the project, must still get labels printed and waiting on the kettles to get back from the engineering shop for adding fittings etc but the panel is all done. It's a full 230v 30A unit, with 12v DC pumps based of Kal's design.

    South African Castle Lager

DannyD, according to the castle lager site, the only ingredients is local pale malt produced in Caledon and Southern Star hops, they mention nothing about corn, but I am sure they add it, and there is no mention of specialty malts. I am not really interested in brewing this for myself, but I...

    Yeast culturig advice

Hi, so started to experiment with culturing some yeast prepared the agar petri dished and inoculated it, been a couple of days and this is how it is currently looking, it looks very milky and from what I have read that's a good sign. So what are you thoughts? Is this a successful culture?

Question about making a beer "red"

On weyermann site they suggest to use it for up to 25% of total grain bill.

strike water to grain or grain to strike water?

I first add strike water to my cooler mash tun, let it sit for a few minutes to warm up the cooler and then stir in the grain in portions to avoid dough balls. Don't think it really matters if you do it other way around, just as long as you get to the desired temp you want to mash at in the end.

Please Critique: Honey Wheat - Honey Blossom

Agree with daksin on the honey, cut back on that if you are dropping the dme, rather add more honey malt. I would shoot for about 10-15 IBU's in this beer, just note that if you do not boil full time with all the malt you will need to add more hops to get to the desired IBU's. Don't think...

Please Critique: Honey Wheat - Honey Blossom

Try doing 4lbs of wheat DME instead of 6lbs, will work out to about 4.5% ABV

Did you stop fermentation with anything? If you do not stop fermentation it will continue to ferment in the keg.
