    Hydrometer in Carboy?

    This may be a dumb question, but I was wondering... Instead of having to pull some small samples out of the primary to measure gravity, why couldn't one just put a sterilized hydrometer in at the start of fermentation and leave it there till bottling? Would it make it easier or are there...

    Slow to go

    I'm also brewing a Belgian White. I used Wyeast for mine though. I pitched it on a Tuesday night and did not notice anything until Thursday afternoon. By Friday morning it was going strong!

    Yeast Starters

    I just bought a pack of Wyeast and in reading the directions notice that I need to make a starter. My question is: Can I use LME to make a starter instead of DME? The recipe I am following only requires LME so I didn't buy any DME.
