I made this recipe back in December of 2010 and it was ok after a few weeks in the bottle but is super delicious now! I have since switched to all grain and was wondering if anyone has the grain bill for an all grain version of this brew.
Just put mine together...no leaks yet! It took about 30 minutes...I did have a hard time taking the tubing out of the ss braid. I pushed and pushed with some needle nose pliers to no avail. Ended up soaking it in a bowl of boiling water for about 3 minutes...I was able to pull it off quite...
Thanks FlyGuy!
I have read this entire thread on and off for the past 3 days but I knew from the start I wanted to do this and get into all grain.
I picked up all the fittings for around $27 bucks and am using some Amazon credit I had left to get the Rubbermaid 10 gallon cooler shipped to me...
Can you please explain maskednegator?
Do you mean that whatever caused the pellicle is living inside the beer where mold would just be living on top?
So the plan is to to taste it tomorrow and then I will know if I am going to dump or not. And if it is not dumped I am still not 100% on the...
OK looks like I am going to give this a taste this evening or tomorrow...if it is drinkable I'll rack from under the pellicle then bottle and if not I'll dump.
After thinking about it some more I don't think I am ready to jump into the Brett just yet.
Thanks everyone!
I tried it after about 3 weeks in primary and thought it could use some more flavor...I recently had an oaked mild from a local brewery and it was pretty good so I thought I would give it a shot.
At this point I am not sure what to do with it as I don't know how long I can go without this...
I went to sample a British Mild I have had in secondary with oak cubes for about a month and found this:

I steamed/boiled the oak cubes in the microwave before adding to the secondary. But now this...so now what? Pellicle? There are bubbles but...
Holy moley...
I put this in primary on 3/3/11 using:
8 can aj concentrate
5 gallons apple cider
2 lbs raw sugar
yeast nutrient
nottingham yeast
I couldn't get it to mix well after adding to the carboy so my OG was somewhere between 1.110 (bottom of carboy) and 1.080 (top of carboy)...
Well...
Holy F@#&in smokes! I just bottled this and tasted the leftover and wow! wow! wow! I don't know if I can wait 3 weeks for this to bottle condition...the taste is super amazing even flat. I used the extract version but threw in a few things I had laying around: half a pound of corn sugar and...
I recently had some Two Hearted during a trip to Philly over the holidays...yum! I think this will be my next brew. I have a starter with some yeast I harvested from a TH. Since I'm not set up to do AG I am thinking about using the following mini mash recipe I came up with using TastyBrew...
Hi! I have been lurking for awhile and started homebrewing a couple months ago. I am living in Austin Texas at the moment and go to the homebrew supply at least once every week or two. This site has helped me immensely as I am getting started and I have learned alot so far but still have a...
