Tapping and pressurizing a Store bought keg?

See if I can help you: 1. The coupler is the D System connection to the keg itself. The tap connects to it. 2. Sounds like you have what you need to connect to the keg. The coupler should have a pressure relief value. The keg is already carbonated so you need to adjust the co2 pressure to...

    Triclamp heater element design

Everytime I think I have a unique idea I find it was already done on these boards! Man you guys are creative. So my question if I may bring to life this thread for a bit, looking at the 3rd attachment, shows the back side of the box and what looks like an NPT to Triclamp fitting, what is...

    Sacrificial Anode

Hope I stated that right. I have seen some electric setups with a piece of aluminum IIRC at the bottom of a kettle to help prevent rust on the heating elements. I have the rust problem and was wondering if this metal was just lying at the bottom of the kettle or "attached" somehow? Trying to...

    NattyBrew's Electric Brewery Build

Not to rain on your parade but pulling romex through pvc is not the proper way to run it. Should have use stranded 10 g wire. Easier to pull and more "to code".

How to build a control panel (part 1)

I didn't have a TIG I used a MIG welder with stainless wire. Cleaned it up real well. Really the only rusting I have is from the element. But that is not a huge issue if I keep it clean and dry when not in use.

How to build a control panel (part 1)

Here's how I did it. I welded the nut to the side of the kettle and made 2 brackets to hold the box on. Hope you can see this picture: Drilled a couple holes in the brackets to mount the box and also give me a ground. Tried to use some gaskets to seal to the kettle (just in case) but I...

Worst Commercial Beer You've Ever Had?

Agreed...Howl one of the worst beers ever. Still have 3 in my cooler to give to Magic Hat "fanboys". I always come across one or 2.

How to build a control panel (part 1)

I used a jig saw with a metal blade, turned the speed down a bit on the saw and it cut like butter. Then did a little grinding on the edges.

How to build a control panel (part 1)

You're dead on...I ordered the 16x16x8 and they sent this one by mistake and didn't want it back. So I had to make due! It weighs 40 - 50 lbs I'd say.

How to build a control panel (part 1)

So I finally got around to posting my pictures. The box I used is quite larger than Kal's and weighs a ton. But I love it. Still not 100% complete but it does function. These pictures are a little older as I have everything else wired up. But I have to replace the AMP and VOLT meets as I...

    Steam hood thoughts

That's a nice idea actually. I am also building a brewery in my barn here in CT and bought a vortex fan recently and just picked up the duct work from HD today. I am going to build a hood out of wood and cover it with shower board so it is cleanable and protects the wood. Someone else...
