    Great Lakes Hops Proprietary Varieties

@growabeard , sorry, yes. I made a single hop Pale Ale with Copper. VERY fruity - it tasted good. I plan to make a hazy style IPA with Copper and other NEIPA-common hops. Bottom line - it's a legit nice hop that I'll work into my IPA style brews. My recipe for the single hop might not...

Fermentis Safbrew LA-01 Recipe Testing - Low Alcohol

I have been brewing for 14 years and brewing ULA beers for 8 months. Yes the yeast method works really well with high temp mash. You WILL want either lactose or maltodextrin added for body. I've used the three maltotriose negative dry yeast strains: Windsor, London and S-33. I've also used...

Fermentis Safbrew LA-01 Recipe Testing - Low Alcohol

@staffordj A good recipe to start out with is this one: It's David Heath's Low Alcohol IPA. The vid description includes a link to his recipe. It will introduce you to ULA brewing with good details on how do a ~1% beer that tastes good. The ULA website is fantastic as well, with even MORE...

Fermentis Safbrew LA-01 Recipe Testing - Low Alcohol

@Cool_Hand_Luke did you send me the yeast? If so i didn't get it. I have been brewing a number of ULA beers with good success. I have a NA NEIPA recipe ready to brew when I get the NA-01. Cheers

    Great Lakes Hops Proprietary Varieties

I just purchased 1# each of Copper and Mackinac as well. Once I've made a brew I'll report back as well.

Fermentis Safbrew LA-01 Recipe Testing - Low Alcohol

I am carbing up a 5 gallon recipe I made based on this David Heath recipe for Low Alcohol IPA. Youtube link at bottom of post. Brewfather recipe link from David: https://share.brewfather.app/32DO4oSY... Also link to Low Alcohol Brewing advice from Lallemand...

Fermentis Safbrew LA-01 Recipe Testing - Low Alcohol

Also sent PM - would LOVE some of the LA-01. I've been doing Lower Alcohol beer - about 3-3.5% for years, but haven't felt like I could go lower and keep it "beery" enough. I really like Sam Adams "Just The Haze" and want to make one myself!

Thanks doublea! I'm relieved that I can still use Brewers Friend. I've been doing BIAB no sparge for a long time and I typically had my efficiency at about 65% - would that be a decent starting point for the Z? Thanks again

Yep, I did that in my current setup on big topcroppers when using my Better Bottle fermenters. I was just hoping to keep the fully sealed fermentation...however you're reminding me it might be more practical to use some of my conventional knowledge for the Z. Thanks, swimIan!

Z1 on the way to me now. A few questions - but most important first: How tall is the corny when used as fermentation vessel - total height with airlock? A ball lock keg is 25 inches tall. What airlock is supplied? [There is a nice fermentation chamber at a good price in my town. Interior height...

1.5 week camping trip - keeping beer cool efficiently

Thanks for that suggestion! Actually, I do have access to electricity. That said, it isn't practical to bring a full size refrigerator. Someone has suggested bringing a dorm fridge tall enough to accommodate 2 corneys. However, most larger dorm fridges have a freezer section (which precludes...
