    Places for brewing: Storm Cellar Vs Shed

    How do you plan on brewing, electric of gas? What location is more temperature stable? We brew in the garage or outside when its nice out. We brew on the side burner of an old grill right now. It works out great if you have the room to store a grill.

    Wyeast activation time

    I usually just smack mine before I start brewing. So it sits maybe 2 hours and usually swells up pretty good. Once i'm close to being cooled down I will shake the pack up a bit and then it really swells.

    Dont brew drunk!!!!

    Last time my father and I brewed drunk I broke the hydrometer. I don't know how I did it. All I did was take it out of the tube and some how I caught the very top tip on the lid when I was putting the lid back on the tube and snapped the tip off. DOH.
