For Sale Complete electric 2-tier system, HERMS capable [Maine]

Complete, turn-key, 2-tier electric brewery for all-grain brewing. HERMS capable - I've brewed one batch since adding HERMS to it and it went surprisingly well. This is a low-tech, non-automated system, but it still works great. 2-tier stand made from industrial shelving - breaks down for...

    New Homebrew Group/Club for Midcoast

There's MALT which kind of started out of the now-closed brew shop in Farmingdale, but now sometimes meets at Richmond homebrew supply, and other places around Augusta/Gardiner. I live in Brunswick and there are no other groups or clubs around that I'm aware of.

Maine Blichmann Therminator, Thrumometer and Beer Gun

A couple of people have asked for photos so I'll post some tonight. Had it a year or so. It's obviously used but in fine working condition.

Maine Blichmann Therminator, Thrumometer and Beer Gun

Therminator: Includes backflush hose, L-bracket, female-female adapter, NPT barb, manual (does not include quick-disconnects shown). I added a layer of PlastiDip to make it easier to grip without getting cut, but it can be peeled off if you want to bake it. I cleaned with a multiple soak &...

Can you vacuum degas wine in a Speidel?

Thinking about getting a couple of Speidel fermenters. I like to degas using my vacuum sealer and am wondering if people have tried that with their Speidels and had any luck. Better Bottles definitely don't work. Thanks, Jim

Exhaust hood idea: blue tarp & pvc. Thoughts?

Towards the end of the boil, I've gotten some dripping where steam has condensed on the duct. I wonder if the larger fan would move more air and avoid that or if there's an inherent flaw in the design. I might put a lip around the duct where it enters the hood to start with.

Exhaust hood idea: blue tarp & pvc. Thoughts?

Here it is, in place: Turned out to be a little overkill as my brew kettle ended up right under the window. But I had to do it . . . Collapses to almost nothing. For just the brew kettle, I built a square frame. I then cut a square from the tarp, after figuring out how much...

Exhaust hood idea: blue tarp & pvc. Thoughts?

Need to grab some pics, but I brewed with my tarp hood this weekend. Expenses went something like this: 1. Tarp: $3.99 at Harbor Freight. Couldn't get in early enough to get a free one. 2. Scrap 2x4: Free. Had some laying around so skipped the PVC. 3. Gorilla Tape: $5. Hoping it holds...
