I use two ale pales or my 13 gal carboy. My friend has a Blichman conical and a Sabco converted keg. All have their advantages. My goal is being able to move my beer with gas when I am finished and keeping it away from O2.
I bought a couple of these because I had a "das bier zapfer" it has a push pump and a lever to dispense. I have used bitburger kegs before and would recommend this system. The CO2 dispenser for it is pretty nice too perhaps I will find one on CL someday.
I picked up a 13 gal for $30 on ebay and I use it all the time. I just use a huge drilled stopper with an airlock. I want more but have not seen any more. Where did you pick yours up?
I can't remember off the top of my head but I think it was brewcrazy. Ok so it was Brewcrazy show 34 and i think they said that they would add a drop to a gallon of boiling water to break that drop up. They added a few drop from that gallon to their starter so that the yeast cells had strong...
I couldn't say "Much less" to save my life, it kept coming out, "Muss Lech" no matter how many time I tried. I also made "Concentration Camps" into "Conversation Camps". I know, not a laughing matter but that seemed to be pretty funny at the time.
I do not have a beaker as of yet, so I have tried it with a growler. I have looked for what king of vessels i might have with a flat bottom but when I tried it with a plastic bottle (flat bottom) I got the same results. I have a motor wired up with the rheostat and still have not had any luck...
It seems that most of my leaks occur at the pressure release valve. I have seen replacement tappets for the in and out valves but never a pressure release replacement. Has anyone else had this problem? What was your solution? I go through gas like crazy and don't even keep it hooked up now-...
What kind of magnet is everyone using? I bought a variable power supply from Big Lots ($5) and a rheostat but the magnet still will not spin it will just jitter or it gets thrown and just sits on the side. I guess next I will try a round stir bar.
