My batch of apfelwein is approximately 6 months old. Just over the past week a white "film" has developed over my brew. Has it gone bad or is this normal??? Thanks! Jeremy

    Beer Wars

I don't. This doesn't make any sense to me at all. I don't see what your point is or what you are trying to get at. Jeremy

    Beer Wars

I don't think it said that distributors were evil or that the three tier system should be abolished. The point was that you shouldn't be required to sell through a distributor to get your beer in a liquor store. Think about it. If I wanted to start a clothing line, it could start making...

    Beer Wars

I agree about the whole whining thing...I could have done without that. However, I think you missed some of the main points of the movie. 1)The lawsuit AB is filing against Dogfish. AB has no patent on "Punkin" they just want to bully them around. Dogfish has two choices fight them in...

    Beer Wars

I just watched this movie tonight. It was interesting for sure. On how Budweiser dominates the American Beer Industry and the struggles that craft/micro/regional breweries face. It opened my eyes to what is really going on in the beer industry. For anyone that has Netflix it is available...

    Advice on Blueberry Wine Recipe

    Preparing for my first brew...

FedEx is OFFICIALLY the WORST company in the entire world!! My package still did not get delivered AGAIN today! They said that if I wanted to I could stick around my office until 7:30pm and the package would get delivered then. You have to be kidding right? I asked if I could just go and pick...

NOOB: Extract vs Partial vs All Grain

Sweet post! Thanks for the info....very helpful. Speaking of extract kits, what are some of the better brands of extract kits that I should use? Thanks! Jeremy

    Preparing for my first brew...

Yeah, sorry no happy ending here. If it was just an extract kit I was waiting on I probably would have picked it up from my LHBS however it was my entire equipment kit. They wanted about 50% more even after I paid shipping costs. No thanks! I'll wait for my kit to arrive. Louisville is...

NOOB: Extract vs Partial vs All Grain

Ok, I just spent quite a bid of time reading various posts on these forums. I want to make sure I understand this correctly. Doing an extract requires no grains or hops. It is basically a pre-made kit that has everything you need kinda like a betty crocker cake mix right? A partial mash...
