Thanks for the replies, I didn't notice them or I would've responded sooner. It turns out the issue was water leaking down into the stc-1000 unit. I've fixed the issue and haven't had any problems with my new inkbird-1000 unit.

So I was handed down a half built keezer with an stc 1000 wired directly to the compressor. I finished the build and have been drinking my first kegged home brew for a month but I've blown out two STC's both on really hot days. The wiring of the STC looks like what I see it should be online...
