Going from Hot to Cold: Transition like a Boss

Where in that list is your immersion or counterflow wort chiller? Did I miss it? I will sanitize the bucket either while waiting for the boil to get there, or once the first boil hops are dropped. Usually have 30-45 minutes before the next addition to sanitize and then move the sanitizer out...

3 FLoyds Zombie Dust attempt. Help/info requested

I didn't know there were year-round Bell's or Pac Man yeasts available. Who makes these, and what are the brand catalog numbers? I always thought the closest yeast to 3Floyds was the Wyeast 1056 or Chico Ale.

    Zythos hops

Yeah, I'm totally gonna do this as well...except I'm going to use Warrior as my bittering hop, and then do one oz Zythos @ 10, 5 & 0. I'm using 11 lbs of 2-row and a lb of CaraHell (10*L). I might try to get some Crisp Cara Malt that is 17L and throw a half pound of that in there as well. But...

Read "Designing Great Beers" after making a couple of kits. The knowledge there is easy to understand and will get you going in the right direction once you have some basic knowledge.

Will a propane grill boil wort?

Make sure the kettle bottom is compatible with the shape of the burner stand. I can't remember why, but my dad bought a burner that sucked for my kettle - we had to put 2 square pieces of pipe on there so it could set (sit?) evenly. Any of the Bayou County should do. I'd avoid the ones that...

First lager started my fermentation to cold?

Yeah, Osagedr is right, I've seen people use 2 packs of dry yeast where as Mr. Malty recommends a starter or 4 packs of liquid yeast. The first lager I did was a single vial of Whitel Labs Budvar, and yeah, the beer got infected because there wasn't enough yeast. Usually, I do a gallon starter...

    Take-A-Chance

First of all, nice work on the overall design. I do similar labels for my beer. Second of all, Ames, eh? Yeah, I graduated from the college located there in 1993. Nice to see people brewing beer there. Go Cyclones! I dig that you have quite a bit of description in your labels. I used to...

    Rye Stout

Looking for a recipe similar to Bell's Rye Stout. I thought about using chocolate rye and 2 lbs of rye malt. What would flaked rye add?
