What strain of yeast are you using?

I do not have a brew beltbut you did give me another idea. Just a nice thick bath towel or blanket around the fermenter for insulation? I don't think the yeast will necessarily fall out with an ambient temperature of 42F given the heat put off by the fermentation but I do feel it's close...

So I'm thinking of ordering several pounds of hop pellets in bulk and was wondering just how much space 1 pound will take up? Limited freezer space and all that needs to be considered. I've searched around a bit and can't find any information on it. .

Anyone have any experience cleaning/prepping a brand new item like this for first use? Should I wash it out with anything out of the ordinary? I was thinking oxyclean first then star san sanitizer before first use.

I think I'm with you on the better bottles. Someone gave me one the other day and I've been looking at it because currently I have to lower full carboys in to a chest freezer then lift them out later. I just have this visual of getting shrapnel like you did.

I broke my fingertip pouring a full 6.5 gallon glass carboy. The thing didn't break but it slipped and smashed my finger good.

Dang dude that is way more impressive than my broken finger! Did it just explode and launch glass at you? How'd it get you in so many places?

That rig was the talk of the fest for sure. I know a lot of people never left the brasseurs tent. Set the standard for bad ass this year.
