    American IPA All Amarillo IPA

Yes. I stirred after the boil. Then after cooling around 80 degrees and in the fermenter I shook to aerate. Hmm, but maybe some of the water I added didn't get mixed thouroghly. I'm doubting now. I'll stir tonight and retest. I also didn't see any bubbles this morning. Hoping activity picks up...

    American IPA All Amarillo IPA

I did a batch of this last night. I got an OG of 1.048. That seems bad as the recipe says 1.067. I added water up to my 5 gal mark. Is this bad?

    American IPA All Amarillo IPA

All of the shops around me are out of fresh hops. Will the same taste come through using pellat hops? Anyone tried pellats with this recipe? I'm assuming you wiegh out the pellats as you do fresh? Thanks!

    Regulator failed...second best option

Got it. Never primed a keg before. How much sugar? Just throw it in there or stir it?

    Regulator failed...second best option

There might be. I fill my C02 by telling my Dad, it's time for a fill. He is in the extinguisher business. I think I might just prime with sugar and put a bit of carb in the keg to seal the lid. Why shouldn't I put it in the fridge? Chilling beer would be my first instinct.

    Regulator failed...second best option

My secondary ferment is ready for kegging. I have a corny keg setup which I was prepping to use for transfer. Upon hooking it up and checking for leaks I noticed the regulator gauge is somehow broken. The needle on the gauge is not registering. It looks like it has twined all the way around the...

    Speakeasy Brewery Clones

That's great idea. I am actually going to tour their brewery this Friday. I will add my questions about the hops along the way. I will report back.

    Speakeasy Brewery Clones

I have looked around and have not been able to find any clone recipes of the beers brewed at Speakeasy Brewery (San Francisco, goodbeer.com), like Big Daddy, double Big Daddy, etc. Has anyone come across these before? Let me know. They are good beers, would love to try and brew a batch myself.

    American IPA All Amarillo IPA

Well my batch seems to be coming along fine. Transferred to the secondary fermenter at 1.015 gravity. Taste seems like there is no problems. Temp here has been pushing it at around 75, sometimes 77. Been keeping the a/c on at 75. Next time I will try a bath with water like I have seen many do in...

    Boiling Hops

The only reason I am concerned is that I am doing the All Amarillo IPA recipe from this site. It is a total of 4 oz of hops. Seems like a lot to leave them in through the entire ferment. I might dry hop as well.

    Boiling Hops

And leave them in through the ferment (1 week)? No off taste comes from that?
