2 Fifty Qt Igloo Coolers in Cleveland Area

I'll also throw in this little contraption for free. It's supposed to be an independent heat exchanger for a HERMS. Never did get the thing to stop leaking, but it's nothing a little, or maybe a lot, of silicone wouldn't fix. No copper tubing to go with it, sorry. BTW, any buyer is...

2 Fifty Qt Igloo Coolers in Cleveland Area

2 Coolers, should make good HLT and MLT. Each has one hole drilled, one for heating element (you can also have the 1500 watt element and the adaptor is already installed in the cooler), and the other one for a bulkhead fitting (no fitting included). Both are in good shape, but I upgraded...

    NanoBrewery build

So here's a legal-ish question that you may be able to answer. As homebrewers, what I do with my brew is pretty much my business, as long as I don't give it to minors or charge any money for it whatsoever. A commercial brewery can not, I understand, under any circumstances give away any...

Show me your Brewtroller control panel!

No replies? I was hoping to steal some ideas too!

    NanoBrewery build

Now i have to wonder if a RV would pass inspection. That would be the coolest thing ever.

    NanoBrewery build

Were there ever any health code or ttb issues with the building? I know states vary, but if a backyard shed will pass inspection... Then I may may have to get SWMBO something very nice for Christmas to keep me out of trouble.

    Anyone growing their own ingredients?

Grew my own pumpkins last year that I worked into a pumpkin ale. Turned out pretty good. Have hops growing, but haven't used any yet. Planted raspberries, but will be a while before they produce enough to do anything with. Plus I started a beehive this spring. Likely won't have enough honey...

Easy Stovetop All-Grain Brewing (with pics)

I just made an Irish Red with this technique. Other than the usual things that have gone wrong with my partial mashes (wort all over stove, broken hydrometer, SWMBO making me scrub floors afterwards...) everything went great. Someday I'll finish my single tier setup, but until then it's good...

    Craiglist SCORE! CO2 Tank

Earlier this month I got a 50# with dip tube (paintball guy went out of business) for $100 to refill my 5# without having to drive to the welding supply place all of the time. I'm still pretty happy about that. Got it into the basement without SWMBO finding out, too.

You know you are a new parent homebrewer when.....

What? You didn't mention the Barley cereal??? I've been eying my daughter's box of barley cereal ever since she's started on solids.

    cloudy wine

How long did you wait for it to clear? Something a lot of people say around here is to never dump something until you've let it age a proper amount of time and then tasted it. Looks good and tastes good aren't always the same thing. Bottle it and put it away and it may clear. Now, brown may...

    Mychorrhzae and New Rhizomes

It's my understanding that the first year yield is usually low or nonexistent because the rhizome is putting down so many roots. Encouraging additional root formation may just divert more nutrients away from cone formation... or not. Sounds like an experiment is in order this spring.

    hop from a cutting

One of my cascade rhizomes was apparently dead. After I realized this and my other cascade was several feet tall I took some cuttings from it and buried the first 10 inches or so, leaving just a few inches sticking out of the ground. After a long time they finally started to grow. They only...
