I had a brew today and when I went to use my homemade counterflow chiller (which worked on my last brew) water from the hose was coming out of all 4 ports. I can’t figure out what went wrong. Has anyone else seen this?
I modeled my counterflow after the exchillerator.
I don't know if anyone was successful, but this is my recipe attempt. Let me know what you think

How do three tier folks protect your igloo coolers from the burner heat when brewing. This is the solution I came up with, I'm just wondering what other options people have.
First brew yesterday with my new gravity system and new mashtun. My efficiency improved greatly (from low 60's to 72% yesterday) which I'm really happy with.
Had to deal with some weather issues. Brewing in sub 20 degree weather needs a little better planning. The spigot off the house kept...
Ok, I did my mods this weekend and here is the result. Right now it's a rough bench, I'm going to give it a test run in a couple of weeks and if everything works as I hope it will I'll start the process of sprucing it up a bit.
I've been thinking about modifying my existing bench. Right now it's a single tier, but I have no pumps or anything. I'd like to spruce it up a bit and modify it for a three tier system until I can buy a pump. With that in mind I've been trying to think of a way to do a three tier system while...
It's been 8 days (all-grain) Its on a bench in the basement wrapped in blankets. Normally it's a perfect environment for fermentation, but this cold snap screwed with everything. My old boiler couldn't even keep up with the cold.
I'll give the heating pad a try.
So my DIPA was almost done fermenting when the deep freeze hit. It was fermenting at about 66 in the basement the entire time, but yesterday it dropped down to 56. I'm thinking of transferring to secondary and dry hopping at this point. Do you think I'll experience any issues with this sudden...
I have an old 1950 GE Fridge that I started using for a fermentation chamber. I connected it to a Johnson Controls A19AAT-2C Freezer Temperature Controller. It's been good at controlling the temp, but I noticed it gets musty and moldy in there. How do I go about preventing that?
