    That's overly cynical. PR is not easy, and if he's not good at it that certainly doesn't make him a dickwad inherently. The personal response was a nice gesture, and he probably thought it would mean a lot to a fellow brewer, even though it was ultimately ill advised.

    A gold cauldron might work, but a normal flat bottomed pot made of gold would probably buckle under the weight of five gallons of wort. Unless you made it quite thick, which increases the bling properties substantially.

    Cheap Buckets

    I get 5 gallon buckets from work, since that's how our corn syrup comes. The lids are great, they have a hole in the top that fits a #8 stopper.
