    ebay 3800w dimmer

    I have one of these dimmers from ebay: "9500W thyristor Voltage Regulators dimming speed thermostat control" http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/150847167748 But I have not connected it to my heater element yet. Are they meant to vary the voltage? Mine reads 244V no matter the position of the knob.
